Arty Perks
I've been doing some reading etc (well, I looked at the pictures), and I have given my crew the BiA all along, apart from the driver, whom I have given Sixth Sence. Have I dropped an almighty bollock, or am I on the right tracks? Sixth Sence to me seems an odd one. It doesn't activate until 2-3 seconds after you are spotted, by which time you're probably already in someones sights and ready for a right royal bum roasting.
Any Arty types care to enlighten a noob?

Hummel, also just got Panther, so any tips on crew skills always appreciated.
I bought the camo add on thingy and gun laying drive also. Will buy the aim time one when I get enough cash, just spent all my coins on panther and upgrades

Re: Arty Perks
GLD and camo net are all you need, and rammer.
You should train the 'snap shot' skill but only after you've trained camo and brothers in arms. Brothers in arms improves all your skills. GWP is a great arty (even after the nerf) so enjoy

Re: Arty Perks
Ok maybe I'm dumb to point that out but you do know that BiA does not work unless ALL of your crew has it at 100% right? So if you have SS on the Commander and BiA on the rest of the crew, you basically have a useless perk.
Maybe I'm too drunk and not at my best comprehension level though

Re: Arty Perks
ye of course all your crew has to have BIA.
Simple check - the fist will be greyed out if the whole crewed isnt 100% trained in BIA

Re: Arty Perks
as the above seem to gone into anti-arty mode - it comes naturally to some
i'll tell what i have on my leFH crew
Commander: BiA, sixth sense and mentor 69%
Gunner: BiA, camo and deadeye 69%
Driver: BiA, clutch braking and off road driving 69%
Loader: BiA, camo and repairs 69%

Wouldn't it be better to get Mentor at an early stage,as it will accelerate all but the commander?diavolo_rosso wrote:Commander: BiA, sixth sense and mentor 69%

Re: Arty Perks
People tell me that mentor doesn't make a real difference early on. From what I read on the forums, mentor really starts being valuable until after the 3rd skill is maximized, or thereabouts. So while your reasoning is sound, by picking mentor early on you'd be missing on perks like BiA that would make your battles potentially easier. Or at least that's how it is the way I hear it, seeing as I don't actually have mentor on any of my tanks.

Re: Arty Perks
i did mentor first and the swapped to BiA, then mentor again until i had enough for sixth sense - because it works from 1% and the others only at 100%
and sixth sense is useful for arty, it has saved my arse quite a few times - the 3 seconds seems to enough, by the the time the enemy realises you're there, stops, takes aim - it gives you a chance to at least try to move a bit...
